It is a requirement that staff undertaking this course will have completed AWARENESS OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT, SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN IN EDUCATION or Refresher within last 3 years


To raise awareness of the vulnerability of babies and young children.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will:

  • understand why babies and toddlers are more vulnerable to harm than any other age group
  • have considered lessons learnt from serious case reviews
  • have an understanding of the physical anatomy of very young children
  • have considered how practice can be improved.
